Avicii was instantly fascinated with producing and spent many hours in his home studio creating one fresh tune after the next. Avicii never tried to get caught up in a specific subgenre of house, but wanted to keep the productions up to date and innovative. His music is inspired by the likes of Laidback Luke, Steve Angello and Tocadisco, but also Daft Punk, Eric Prydz and that of Axwell. In April 2008, Avicii released the first big track, ‘Manman’, on Pete Tong’s Bedroom Bedlam label after winning the Pete Tong Fast Trax. 1. How did you first get into DJing?
I started DJing about 18 years ago. Growing up, I used to love listening to the radio and would tape the old dance classics like K.r.u.s.h by Mel & Kim Marrs on my old ghettoblaster and edit out the presenter, sort of making my own mash up compilations. That was what triggered my love for electronic music which then grew into hip hop, jungle and finally house music in it’s current form.

1. How did you first get into DJing?

I first got into djíng after hearing a Graeme Park tape in 92 and really liking the music. After that I went to a few house clubs and got in to the music more and then bought some decks and started my now very large house music vinyl collection.

International DJ and producer Reza has been a prominent figure on the dance music scene for many years. He was recently described by Radio 1 as ‘A Great Talent’ and has performed at some of the worlds most prestigious clubs and events.

He played at the V Festival 2005 and has been a resident DJ for DTPM at Fabric in London and for Miss Moneypennys and Bacardi -B-Bar. Reza is also a record producer and has recently been in the studio recording with Howard Donald (Take That).

Reza has had over twenty releases, several of which have featured in Pete Tongs Buzz Chart on Radio 1. Labels Reza has released on include DTPM, Kidology, Sunflower, Nocturnal, Refunkt (UK), Fresh Fruit (Holland) Spread Muzik (USA) Oryx (Italy) resulting in lot’s plays on Radio 1, Kiss Fm, Galaxy Fm etc and having tracks featured on Ministry Of Sound and Underwater Records compilations.

1. How did you first get into DJing?
I was fascinated by the art of mixing & scratching in the early 80’s and by the mid eighties I had taught myself how to do it for my own pleasure really. I got into DJ’ing in public purely by being in the right place at the right time.

The first pop record I bought was The Police “Roxanne” and the first dance record was Africa Bambaataa & The Soul Sonic Force “Planet Rock”.

1. How did you first get into DJ’ing?

I first got into DJ’ing back in 1988 when I was 11 years old. I lived in a pub with my family, mum and dad would have lock-ins for the regulars at the weekend and I would play music in the back bar on the technics, trying to mix. It was a great time back then, listening to Fantasy FM, Chrome & Time, DJ Hype. They inspired me to teach myself how to DJ.

2. What was the first record you bought?

LFO by LFO on Warp Records back in 1988/89….. TUNEAGE

3. What have you been up to so far this year?

I’ve been keeping my head down this year concentrating on setting up my new studio and new label Digital Disco Records, ready to promote and release some fresh tracks this year. I’ve been working with some big artists this year, hopefully all the hard work will pay off.

How did you first get into DJing?
I actually started out producing when I was about 11 using a mixer and 2 tape decks. I then got hold of a pair of Memorex turntables and wired up pitch controls to them and taught myself to mix! I have no idea how I knew how to rewire a turntable at the age of 11 but there you go!

What was the first record you bought?
Axel F by Harold Faltermeyer…..what a tune!

What have you been up to so far this year?
I’ve been producing Booty Luv’s new album which is coming along nicely. I’ve also done remixes and production for Henry J Morgan, Lucien Foort, Rudenko, Marmaduke Duke, Platnum, Fedde Le Grande and a cheeky cover version of Jai Ho! Also touring the world with Hed Kandi each weekend causing trouble!

How did you first get into DJing?

I went to Ibiza in 2006 fell in love with the place and the music, went home and jumped on my housemates 1210’s. Really struggled with them to start with, then i borrowed a friends old school cdjs with the plus and minus buttons and the little jog wheel, learnt a little bit on there and then brought my self some cdj turntables and locked my self away for about 4 months.

What was the first record you bought?

Didnt buy vinyl as i mainly learnt on CD’s but borrowed my mates he had a load of hard dance and trance records, thought id ease my self in gently haha.

What have you been up to so far this year?

I have been really lucky, i have played in some amazing countries and clubs as well as gigs in the UK. Begining of the year i went to Miami Winter Conference where i played at Nikki Beach, on the last day, then came home and flew off to France to play in Chamonix, then Bremen Germany. I then had a few gigs in Shanghai China that was amazing, the people over there LOVE their house music it was great. Then on to Moscow to play at Pacha for Miss Moneypennys, that has been one of my favorite gigs so far. I then played in Ibiza for the first time, was unbelieveable!! had so much fun , the best places were for Audiodamage gets charged, Boho and pukka up at Es Paradis. The minute i got back i flew to Switzerland to play in club Q which was awesome and BCM Mallorca. I have also been in the studio this year and have made a few tracks, my first track Sanctuary has just been signed to Miss Moneypennys. I am working on a few new bits at the moment as well…
