Chayo Alvar
Chayo Alvar is a more than versatile dj, playing and incorporating many music styles into his sets ranging from tech house, minimal, funky house to old skool and even sometimes a few party pieces. a vast contrast to many other dj’s, Chayo started mixing purely for the enjoyment of competition and for the love of different music styles. The only thing that set Chayo apart was that, he found he had a raw talent and realised the only way to harness it was to get off his backside and show the masses what he was made of.
Chayo has too many influences to name, but they include, Daft Punk, the chemical brothers,masters at work, giles peterson,judge jules, Mark Ramsey.
Chayo started to find his feet, by playing at local house parties and pubs in the south london area. every friday and saturday night you would find him behind the decks at hotshots, the scene nightclub and at caesers. the break came when on a trip to aiya napa, when he played numerous warmup sets for twice as nice at the abyss nightclub. also playing at the ice club for fresh and funky promotions, playing uplifting house and old skool. you can hear how influenced chayo is with his sets as it ranges from sexy and uplifting house through to tech and progressive house into funky house.
Recently chayo has been involved with some projects, with production coming to the forefront and has returned from securing work for the oncoming year ( 2009) in ibiza.
A natural entertainer, watch this space for more, as chayo strives to become an established dj and take it up another notch.
